Three-Day Destination Wedding Weekend in Riviera Nayarit, Mexico

AS SEEN ON OVER THE MOON

From the very beginning, Mariana Flores Sosa and Efrain Tejeda envisioned a wedding weekend that would transport their guests into an immersive, tropical celebration—one that felt deeply personal and effortlessly luxurious. With the expertise of Acenta Eventhouse, they designed a multi-day experience in Riviera Nayarit, Mexico, blending Mexican and Dominican influences with the raw beauty of the Pacific coast. Set against the dramatic backdrop of Teitiare Estate, their three-day wedding unfolded with intentionality, highlighting the natural surroundings while reflecting their elevated style and shared story.

The festivities began with a sunset beach fiesta—tacos, ceviches, margaritas, and a bonfire welcoming guests into the weekend. The following evening, a rehearsal dinner overlooking the sea paid homage to Efrain’s Caribbean roots with a live salsa and merengue band and a churros cart reminiscent of traditional Mexican street vendors. The wedding day was nothing short of cinematic: a mixed-faith ceremony in the jungle, followed by an oceanside reception infused with tropical elegance. A surprise fire show and an ‘80s-inspired dance floor under palm trees and disco balls closed the evening—an ode to Casablanca in NYC, where they first met.

As a creative force in luxury fashion, Mariana’s wardrobe was a celebration of storytelling and craftsmanship, centered on Latin American designers and artisanal technique. For the ceremony, she collaborated with best friend and designer Estefania Alvarez to create a custom gown under her namesake label, estefania. Inspired by Dior’s 1948 “Eugénie” gown, the design featured cascading ruffled lace, a removable seafoam-inspired train, and a hand-embroidered bolero—every detail reflecting femininity, heritage, and thoughtful artistry.

Throughout the weekend, Mariana’s fashion choices were intentional and exquisite—from a Johanna Ortiz mini dress and Olympia Le-Tan clutch at the welcome party, to a bougainvillea-embroidered Chanel set paired with a voluminous Christopher John Rogers skirt for the rehearsal dinner. She closed the weekend dancing in a white Oscar de la Renta mini dress, a tribute to Efrain’s Dominican heritage. Every look echoed her love of storytelling, fashion, and Latin craftsmanship.

This three-day destination wedding was more than a celebration—it was a masterfully curated experience, where every detail—from wardrobe to setting—reflected Mariana and Efrain’s world. Organic yet refined, timeless yet deeply personal, it was a testament to the power of thoughtful design and meaningful connection.

Kind Words

“When looking for a photographer, it was really important for us to find someone whose aesthetic we connected with and who had experience with destination weddings. We absolutely loved Adriana’s work and were drawn to her involvement in the creative process. Our wedding took place in the Riviera Nayarit and Punta Mita, Mexico, and our wedding photographs turned out to be everything we expected and more. We loved working with Adriana, and our wedding even ended up being featured as a Summer cover on Over the Moon. We’re so grateful to have one of the most important weekends of our lives beautifully captured and preserved by her.?
